Angela McConnell

I was born in Manchester but moved with my family to Cornwall when I was seven.  Upon leaving school I took employment as a secretary, but found this too sober and joined the Army in 1986 as an administrator.

The Army was just becoming computerised when I joined.  This put me in a good position as I was sent on various courses to learn how to use the new system and was subsequently taught to train other soldiers how to utilise it.  I spent a great deal of my Army career showing others how to use computers and how to make the most of the equipment they had available to them.

Both the training and advising experience I gained in the Army proved valuable as a civilian and gave me the opportunity and ability to set up A View to a Skill Ltd.

Since setting up A View to a Skill Ltd I have qualified as a tutor and an advisory practitioner.  The company has also gained the ‘Matrix’ standard which is the quality mark for advisors – a huge achievement for a small company.

The past 18 months have been amazing.  I have learned so much and met many remarkable people.  I really do believe in fate and think I was meant to meet Ian.  His individual skills and attributes compliment mine, making an extremely strong team.  Being given the opportunity to help others has given us both so much satisfaction.
